Yesterday I joined the #MarchforMidwives, calling for more staff, more funding, better conditions and decent pay for midwives and midwifery staff. 10+ years of cuts means that midwifery is in crisis and the Royal College of Midwives estimate a UK shortage of over 3500 midwives.
